Halal Presentation in COMSATS

Mr. M. Jahangir gives presentation on Halal Food Certification at CIIT, Abbottabad

Mr. M. Jahangir, the auditor of Halal Feed & Food Inspection Authority, The Netherlands, presented the concept of Halal Food certification in Pakistan in the conference room of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Abbottabad. Faculty members from Environmental Sciences and Pharmacy Departments participated in this presentation. Dr. Iftikhar Ahmad Raja, Director CIIT Abbottabad, Dr. M. A. Farooqui, Chairman, Environmental Sciences Department and Dr. Izhar Hussain, Chairman, Pharmacy Department were also present at this occasion. Worthy Director highlighted the need and scope of Halal Food in light of Quranic verses.

In this context several Halal Food organizations are working in various regions of the World. The work plan of these organizations was explained to the audience. Mr. Jahangir urged the need for the establishment of a Food Technology Department at CIIT Abbottabad. Later, the issues of mutual interest were discussed.
